I have been digging into the UK music scene recently and “I Said Yes” is one I came across. I love this free spirited song. Just a fun one for summer. You can get free downloads of this song and…
The video is a bit strange but cool at the same time. The important thing is the song, and you’re in luck because it is so good. Maybe jackals will become the new vampires, this song makes me think…
And it soars through the air! And lands on your shoulders!
I will be a part of you will you please be a part of me? I need you.
You make my heart explode.
We’re alive! We’re in love! We’ve got hope just because!” —The Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt from “Ride Friendship” from the album I Love You. I Love You. I Love You and I’m in Love With You. Have an Awesome Day! yup, this is for real.
I probably shouldn’t admit to how I came across this song because one of my college friends said he would disown any of his friends who confess to watching one of the most mindless shows on T.V.,…

The first time he moves it’s her hair that he touches
She asks “Are you cursed?” He says “I think that I’m cured’” —Josh Ritter, “The Curse”
This is William Fitzsimmons’ song “So This is Goodbye” remixed by Pink Ganter. (You can find it for free on the RCRD LBL website too.) I enjoy Fitzsimmons’ songs normally although after a while they can be bland and boring especially if you are not in the mood for this type of song. This slow jam remix thing is a great change of pace. It is a great way to mix the singer/songwriter with electronic beats and it seems like more and more of these types of remixes are cropping up. Interesting.
“It’s not just, it’s not just falling in love”, this was instant love. This is the first song that plays on their myspace page. After a day of constantly listening to new music All the Damn Kids…
Here is a list of Boston concerts that I keep on the sidebar but you might not come across it if you don’t scroll down often. I just updated it today. While it is not a complete list of Boston area…
If you want an awesome mix tape with an equally awesome title: Summer Days Through the Folkish Haze, go to The Blue Walrus and get it while it’s hot! And it is free too! Below is the track listing….
Firstly, I would like to apologize for my two lazily and horribly written posts yesterday. That was not a cool way to start the week. I was in transit this weekend and was in no way prepared to find…

Paul Simon’s Graceland album was a staple in my childhood. The african drums beat throughout many dinners, it was a great accompaniment to summers grilling on the patio, and countless other events….
I fell in love with this song instantly. Shortly after my first listen, I bought the album. At first I thought it was an impulsive purchase fueled by my banjo obsession, but as I delved into…
I love Scandinavian bands so how I only heard about the Swede band, Radio Dept., this year is beyond me. I feel like by admitting that I just lost all my street cred. The first song I heard by them was this one and I keep on coming back to it.
The quote in the begining is from Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth during an interview. The question was about record companies and here is his full response:
“Some people see rock & roll as youth culture, and when youth culture becomes monopolized by big business, what are the youth to do? I think we should destroy the bogus capitalist process that is destroying youth culture by mass marketing, and commercial paranoia behavior control. And the first step is to destroy the record companies.”
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

It seems like there is a new mindblowing track coming out at every turn these days. It just so happens a lot of them are aiding in the inevitable change of season quickly…
The Powder Kegs play satisfying dreamy pop songs gently laced with trumpets and pianos. “La Mariposa” is worth a good…
This cover of Paul Simon’s “Graceland” blew me away. It has always been one of my favorite songs, I once accidentally used audio editing equipment without knowing it and sped the song up to make it 40 seconds shorter and that version has been on my playlists for ages. Basically I love all versions of this song, but I especially like The Tallest Man on Earth version. Check it out.
I know I have been all amped up on summer songs, so you are just going to have to deal with it. All of my summer mixes from years past have been top notch playlists and now I am starting to feel the…
An upgraded version of “Ring Ring” from the Sleigh Bells demo. I love this song, it sounds like something old that I remember but not sure what. I think the album is cool and exciting, but the hype was more than the final product, which is always sad. Plus some of the distortion was over the top and took away from the songs. I need to listen to it some more to form a final opinion but for now I say it is O.K., I wouldn’t buy it. But I sure do love this “Rill Rill” song.
Will Kimbrough has been around for quite some time now but released a new album, Wings, in February. I posted this video because there were limited choices and because this song reminds me of…
Today I was supposed to be insanely productive and do 1,000 things. Then I took adderall and it’s almost noon, I have accomplished zilch despite being awake at 6 am, FML. So let’s hate on facebook…
This is a fun song from an Irish singer/songwriter who is about to release his debut album, Outside Looking In, on June 7th. Simon Fagan’s song “Never Really Cried” recently won the International…
I have some weekend ramblings prepared but first I just wanted to give you this dance floor or pre-going out jam to listen to. It is a little bit cheesy but the beat is irresistible. I cleaned the…
I am so excited for Delta Spirit’s new album, History from Below, coming out June 8th. So far a few songs have been (unintentionally?) leaked on the internet and you can get “Bushwick Blues”…
In looking for The Spring Standard video, I started watching other Paste videos. (When I went to SXSW the songs from Paste were my favorites and I should invesitgate it more regularly.) Anyway, I…
I bought the 1% for the Planet on iTunes and just threw them all on my little iPod to shuffle. Whenever this song comes on, I’m usually cooking for whatever reason, and I find myself bopping (not…
Pretty sweet tune (thanks to http://www.groovemine.com/burning for the link). This is “Pushing/Shoving” by Man/Miracle
I came across this on one of my favorite Denver music blogs. This is an australian band that I have really come to like since she first posted about them way back when. She just reposted her old link so you can get their full album on her website here. This is a video from Augie March’s new album.
It’s almost Friday, which means it’s almost the weekend, which is why this song is perfect to get you through the end of the week, because “tomorrow is just a song away.” Here is the official video, which makes me laugh because of the awesome dance moves. Enjoy.
