Sometimes I just want to be honest about the music I get sent. I fight with myself a lot about posting stuff I like vs. what I think has potential and has talent behind it. I will not be intentionally mean, I have no desire to do that and it serves no purpose. But some stuff just doesn’t fit with my blog, or I just can’t take the time to get into the more challenging music. I like to think of the phrase “Everyone has a mother” because I assume every band had someone who loved them or liked them enough to tell them to go record their music. Basically, I believe there is someone (other than the band) who genuinely liked and encouraged their music at some point in time. So here goes nothing. I don’t think anybody reads this anyway.
Slackeye Slim - your intro scares me, and then the next song sounds like a terrifying gypsy run circus and my worst nightmare, but then I kind of like it. It’s dark, and moody, and reminds me of spaghetti westerns, yet I can take it seriously at times. There’s too many tumbleweeds and I didn’t make it past track 8. Listen to the whole set on soundcloud.
